Nymphenburg Palace

This baroque castle was the main summer residence of the former rulers of Bavaria of the House of Wittelsbach.  In addition to its numerous outbuildings, the imposing complex includes several important art collections. With its most impressive interior and the famous "Gallery of Beauty" of King Ludwig I, the castle is one of the most visited monuments in Munich. 

The Botanical Garden, located on the north side of the park, is one of the most beautiful in Europe. The park with its majestic trees, numerous waterways and hidden pavilions is the ideal place to relax for an afternoon. Each of the four pavilions is a real enchantment.

The English Garden in Munich

Covering more than 400 hectares, the Englischer Garten (English Garden) is the green lung of Munich. Conceived in 1789, it is one of the largest urban parks in the world. There are 78 km of paths among many gardens. The park has original buildings such as a 35-meter high Chinese pagoda and a small temple in Greek style. An artificial canal crosses it and ita popular spot for surfers who enjoy its waves in all seasons. 

Tourists and locals alike like to socialise with a beer in one of the typical open-air breweries.

The Munich Residence

Used as an official residence by Bavarian monarchs between 1385 and 1918, the Residenz München (Munich Residence) is the largest city palace in Germany. Its history is as complex as its architecture. There are no less than 10 inner courtyards and 130 rooms with styles from four different centuries. 

It is bordered on one side by a park, the Hofgarten, and on the other by the Opera Square (Max-Joseph-Platz).

The residence can be reached in 20 minutes by express train, S-Bahn (line S2 or S3) or subway, U-Bahn (line U7 and U4) from our apart hotel Munich.

Attend the Oktoberfest

As the name suggests, the beer festival takes place from the end of September to the beginning of October. It is the biggest event of the city which welcomes more than 6 million visitors. The inaugural parade, the opening of the first barrel, traditional costumes, music and more than two hundred attractions make these 18 days a great festival recognised throughout the world.
